Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain a positive, orderly environment on the bus while enforcing behavioral guidelines
- Communicate professionally with parents, students, and school staff
- Complete accurate daily transportation logs and incident reports
- Adhere to emergency procedures and student safety protocols
- Assist students with special needs as required by IEPs
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience
- Pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with student mobility
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse student populations
- Reliable transportation to worksite
