Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular events
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain orderly conduct on the bus and enforce district safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes and schedules based on weather conditions or student needs
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Operate specialized equipment (wheelchair lifts, restraints) as required
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- TB clearance and fingerprint background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
