Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise students during transport ensuring safety and discipline
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to strict safety protocols during emergencies and adverse weather
- Complete accurate route logs and incident reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work effectively with children
- High school diploma or equivalent
