Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated DC routes while adhering to traffic laws
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student boarding/disembarkation and ensure safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate route documentation
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification updates
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P/S endorsements
- Minimum 2 years driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of DC metropolitan roadways and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience with children
