Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transit, maintaining a secure and respectful environment
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those with mobility needs
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reporting documentation
- Adhere to strict schedules and punctuality requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse age groups
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
