Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and school schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior during transport, ensuring safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Complete incident reports and maintenance documentation accurately
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse student populations
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent
