Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain a positive and secure environment for students during transport
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Follow strict child loading/unloading procedures and emergency protocols
- Complete accurate daily trip logs and incident reports
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Background clearance through Live Scan fingerprinting
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
