Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and school schedules
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe environment on the bus
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Follow all safety protocols during emergencies and adverse weather conditions
- Complete required paperwork and incident reports accurately
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to obtain required endorsements within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
