Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct during transit and enforce safety rules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Complete accurate daily trip logs and incident reports
- Assist students with boarding/alighting and special needs accommodations
- Adhere to strict schedules and route modifications
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to manage student behavior calmly
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of Minneapolis roadways and traffic patterns
