Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following strict safety protocols
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and clear communication
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school policies, and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Coordinate with parents and school staff on transportation logistics
- Operate specialized equipment (wheelchair lifts, safety harnesses) when needed
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 3 years clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations)
- Pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
- Experience working with children or vulnerable populations
