Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for all students
- Implement emergency protocols and manage student behavior professionally
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Complete accurate daily trip logs and incident reports
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Excellent driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage diverse student groups
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Background clearance through Texas Education Agency
