Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school-related activities in a safe and timely manner.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, ensuring all safety equipment is functional.
- Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety regulations strictly.
- Monitor student behavior and ensure students remain seated and safe during the trip.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedules and any delays.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years).
- Pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Strong customer service skills and patience when interacting with students.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must.
