Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and school schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain a respectful and orderly environment for all students
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to strict safety protocols during loading/unloading procedures
- Complete required documentation and incident reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger/school bus endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior with patience and authority
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings
- High school diploma or equivalent required
