Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain accurate attendance records and student behavior logs
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and student needs during transit
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those with special needs
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with children
- Reliable transportation to reporting locations
