Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance readiness
- Supervise student loading/unloading with attention to safety procedures
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Respond calmly to emergencies and student needs during transit
- Adhere to all Florida traffic laws and school district policies
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience with children
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous child transportation experience preferred
