Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct and ensure a positive, secure environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Follow emergency procedures and maintain incident reports
- Adapt routes for field trips and extracurricular activities
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for route optimization
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for emergency situations
- Local residency within Jefferson County
- Pass DOT physical examination
