Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following strict safety protocols and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior during transit ensuring a respectful environment
- Adhere to precise pickup/dropoff schedules and routes
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations per training protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Louisiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in past 5 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background clearance through Louisiana State Police
- Must be 21+ years old
