Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior with patience and professionalism during transit
- Adhere to traffic laws and school district transportation policies
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student safety concerns
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Clear Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) driving record
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification (training provided)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Fluent English proficiency (bilingual Spanish a plus)
