Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and educational events using district-approved routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Enforce bus safety protocols and student conduct policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and medical situations
- Complete required documentation and incident reports
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid and CPR certification required
- Excellent driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- Knowledge of Washington, DC streets and traffic regulations
