Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict DC traffic regulations
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Ensure student safety through proper loading/unloading procedures and seatbelt enforcement
- Maintain orderly conduct on buses and communicate effectively with students/parents
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation safety protocols and record-keeping requirements
- Collaborate with school administrators on route optimization and schedule changes
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year driving experience or willingness to complete paid training program
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse student populations
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of Washington DC metropolitan area geography
