Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Maintain accurate passenger manifests and incident documentation
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and safety protocols
- Assist during emergency drills and weather-related route adjustments
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility-impaired students
- Knowledge of Boston area streets and traffic patterns
