Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following strict DC traffic regulations and school district protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Maintain orderly student conduct and implement safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips and special events as needed
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
Qualifications
- Valid DC Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years driving experience (commercial preferred)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
