Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance reports are completed accurately
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and implement safety protocols during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route updates or incidents
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment daily
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation laws and district policies
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience with clean driving record (MVR required)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with children
- Must be at least 21 years old and authorized to work in the US
- Completion of first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
