Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following all traffic laws and school district protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintenance reports
- Maintain a positive, orderly environment onboard with student safety as the priority
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes or incidents
- Adhere to strict safety procedures during loading/unloading and emergency situations
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- Child safety certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work early mornings (5:30 AM start) and afternoons
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with children
- Knowledge of Denver area streets and traffic patterns preferred
