Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Manage student behavior with patience and positive reinforcement
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Adhere to all Kansas Department of Transportation regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Emergency response training and implementation during critical situations
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with P/S endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- School bus driver certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings
- Background check clearance through USD 259
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
