Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Enforce bus rules and maintain a safe, respectful environment for all passengers
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes or incidents
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Assist students with special needs during boarding, disembarking, and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class B and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with children
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and afternoons
- Strong defensive driving skills and clean driving record
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred
