Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical soundness
- Supervise student behavior during transit and enforce safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance records and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student safety concerns
- Adhere to all federal/state regulations and district procedures
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Clear driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
