Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct and ensure a positive, secure environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes and schedules as needed for field trips or special events
- Complete accurate incident reports and documentation
- Maintain proper fuel levels and vehicle maintenance records
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Minimum 1 year driving experience preferred
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings and afternoons
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- Commitment to safety and punctuality
