Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior with firm yet positive discipline techniques
- Securely load/unload students at bus stops and schools
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky driver's license with clean record
- Ability to obtain CDL with School Bus (S) endorsement
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Minimum 2 years driving experience
- Background check and fingerprint clearance required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse age groups
