Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior with patience and positive reinforcement
- Ensure proper loading/unloading of students at bus stops and schools
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon driver's license required (CDL not needed initially)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass drug screening and background check
- Ability to obtain Class B CDL with P endorsement (training provided)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and professionally
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
