Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Maintain orderly conduct and ensure student safety during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Follow emergency protocols and manage student behavior professionally
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility-impaired students
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Flexibility to cover extra routes and field trips
