Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on assigned routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance logs and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal DOT regulations and Georgia traffic laws
- Assist students with mobility needs including wheelchair accessibility
Qualifications
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in 5 years)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility
- Excellent communication skills and patience with children
- High school diploma or equivalent required
