Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Ensure student safety during boarding, transit, and disembarking
- Manage student behavior with firm yet compassionate guidance
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and weather-related delays
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Minimum 3 years driving experience
- Excellent driving record with no major violations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background clearance through TN Bureau of Investigation
