Responsibilities
- Safely operate school bus routes adhering to strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct during transport ensuring a positive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Follow emergency procedures and maintain incident documentation
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Assist students with mobility needs when required
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with school bus endorsement
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication skills and patience working with children
- Ability to manage student behavior professionally
- Strong time management and route navigation skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children preferred but not required
