Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance standards are met
- Supervise students during transit to ensure orderly and safe behavior
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and route compliance
- Adhere to emergency procedures and student safety protocols
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's Permit (CDL) or willingness to obtain
- Clear driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background clearance through DOJ/FBI fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
