Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and enforce district safety policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adapt routes during emergencies, weather events, or field trips
- Assist students with mobility needs and special requirements
- Complete daily attendance and incident reporting documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement (S endorsement)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable driving experience with clean MVR record
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and navigate bus steps repeatedly
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background check clearance for working with minors
