Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior during transit ensuring a respectful environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and CMS transportation policies
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and special needs accommodations
- Complete accurate trip documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 3 years driving experience
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Knowledge of Charlotte area streets and traffic patterns
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Commitment to student safety and punctuality
