Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods on assigned routes while adhering to DOT regulations
- Plan and optimize daily delivery routes using GPS technology to maximize efficiency
- Load/unload merchandise with proper handling techniques to prevent damage
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Collaborate with dispatch team to resolve route disruptions proactively
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience in urban environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and operate warehouse equipment
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metropolitan area roadways and traffic patterns
- Proficient in using route optimization software and mobile technology
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
- Pass background check and drug screening as per company policy
