Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct and ensure a positive, secure environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to strict schedules and maintain timely arrivals/departures
- Complete incident reports and documentation as required
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record and satisfactory background check
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work effectively with children
- Basic knowledge of Richmond area geography
- High school diploma or equivalent required
