Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on assigned routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Implement student management procedures ensuring positive onboard behavior
- Coordinate with dispatch and school staff via remote communication systems
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following district crisis protocols
- Complete daily electronic trip reports and route documentation remotely
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Child safety certification and CPR/First Aid training
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision capabilities
- Excellent communication skills for parent/district interactions
- Knowledge of Milwaukee streets and traffic patterns
- Background check clearance through DPI fingerprinting
