Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular events
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate maintenance logs
- Implement student management protocols ensuring a positive bus environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and safety procedures
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for route optimization and accountability
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and student needs
- Complete required training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years driving experience or willingness to complete training
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings/afternoons)
- Basic computer literacy for digital reporting systems
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong commitment to student safety and well-being
