Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable quantum computing architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop cryogenic control systems for quantum processors operating at millikelvin temperatures
- Optimize quantum error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant computations
- Collaborate with quantum algorithm specialists to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Lead integration of quantum-classical hybrid computing systems
- Document quantum system specifications and performance metrics
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum engineering best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of quantum systems experience
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering and quantum control systems
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or D-Wave)
- Demonstrated ability to publish peer-reviewed quantum computing research
- Certification in quantum systems engineering (QSE) preferred
