Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum network architectures supporting distributed quantum computing systems
- Develop cryogenic control systems for superconducting qubit arrays at millikelvin temperatures
- Create quantum error-correction protocols achieving fault-tolerant operations
- Lead integration of photonic interconnects for long-distance quantum communication
- Optimize quantum gate operations through pulse engineering and calibration algorithms
- Collaborate with materials scientists to advance qubit fabrication techniques
- Document quantum system specifications and security protocols for industry standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (MS with 8+ years experience)
- 3+ years designing quantum computing hardware or cryogenic systems
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface codes, color codes)
- Proficiency with pulse control systems (AWG, DAC) and cryogenic instrumentation
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum communication
- TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain
