Responsibilities
- Develop and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead research initiatives to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2026
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical concepts with practical implementations
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at premier conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Drive quantum cryptography solutions for next-gen security frameworks
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-departmental innovation
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, ion trap, photonic)
- Strong track record of securing research grants
- Experience with high-performance computing environments
