Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware performance metrics
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum software with physical qubits
- Author peer-reviewed research publications and patent disclosures
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure federal and industry research grants totaling $2M+
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming experience with Qiskit/Cirq
- Published research in quantum information theory or top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color codes)
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, ion trap)
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Experience securing NSF or DOE research grants
