Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error correction techniques for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors at 100+ qubit scale
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers and lead cross-functional innovation sprints
- Secure $2M+ in government grants for quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum circuit optimization
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing journals (minimum 10+ papers)
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum assembly languages
- Demonstrated experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems
- Strong background in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch)
- Security clearance or ability to obtain DOE/NIST clearances
