Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop novel quantum error correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to characterize quantum processor performance
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of experience with quantum circuit design and simulation
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong publication record in quantum information science
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error correction
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ions)
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel programming
