Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Design and implement error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum software stacks using Qiskit and Cirq
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $1M+ in government grants (DARPA, NSF) and corporate partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and patent 3+ quantum computing innovations annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubits or trapped-ion systems
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper) and classical ML frameworks
- Published research in quantum error correction or quantum supremacy experiments
- Strong track record of securing federal R&D funding
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering and quantum control systems
- Fluency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing architectures
