Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop error-corrected quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical models into practical applications
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at major conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and establish industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum information theory or quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and statistical mechanics
- Proven track record of securing competitive research grants
- Experience with superconducting qubit manipulation or ion trap systems
