Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit coherence and fidelity
- Lead cross-functional research projects using quantum hardware platforms like IBM Q and Rigetti
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at conferences
- Collaborate with software engineers to translate research into practical quantum applications
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation tools
- Published record in quantum algorithm development or error correction
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability, and quantum mechanics
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum hardware debugging
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
